Samik Dutta did his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, West Bengal in 2002. He obtained his Master of Technology degree with Machine Design and Production Engineering specialization from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur in 2004. After completing his M. Tech, he served as a lecturer in MCKV Institute of Engineering, Liluah, West Bengal for two years. In 2006, he joined in CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Durgapur as a scientist. He is involved in the Metrological services as well as in research on design and development of metrological technologies. In 2015, he did his PhD in the field of tool condition monitoring using digital image processing from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He has published 22 number of papers in various international journals, one book chapter, one copyright and 13 number of papers in conferences.
