About the KARYASHALA (कार्यशाला) Scheme:

KARYASHALA is an effort by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India via Accelerate Vigyan to improve research productivity of promising PG and Ph.D. students from universities and colleges through high-end workshops on specific themes. This program aims to provide opportunities to acquire specialized research skills.

About the Workshop:

The present workshop is of one-week duration and for Twenty-five Participants only. This high-end workshop cum training programme is aimed to support the selected candidates by their capacity building in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for Industrial Applications. It is planned in order to create a platform for discussions and exchange of knowledge between participants and leading experts, industry professionals, entrepreneurs who are working at the interface of these areas through sharing of knowledge about advanced AI/ML/DS algorithms, their Industrial applications, associated state-of-the-art technologies and the linked industrial case studies. Selected participants may enhance their skills in appreciating different industrial problems and applications of AI and Data Science for designing practical solutions for the same.

Eligibility & Selection:

Motivated students currently pursuing their Post-graduate/ M.S./ M.E./ M. Tech./ Ph.D. degree in any science/ engineering discipline from reputed Institutions/ Universities of India and are interested in making career, doing projects or pursuing research in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for its applications in solving practical Industrial applications. Top 25 candidates would be selected based on criteria decided by duly formed committee for the purpose.

Speakers & Instructors:

Speakers would be from various reputed national & international organizations like CSIR’s Labs, IITs, NITs, ISI, reputed industries like NVidia, Intel, TCS etc. Hands-on sessions would be conducted by the well-trained instructors who are accustomed of using various tools of the Data Science and AI. Lab visit and other orientation program may be organized subject to the availability of time and resources.

Registration and Guidelines:

• Registration can be done through online link (https://forms.gle/Cccjtg5Z2PhFwdoN8) by uploading the forwarded NoC by Institute/ College/ University in prescribed format.
• Only 25 (Twenty-Five) eligible candidates (as per SERB guidelines) would be shortlisted for this workshop. 
• The names of shortlisted candidates would be published on the Institute’s website.
• The selected candidates will have to acknowledge and accept the offer for participating in the workshop through return email by due date, failing which the waitlisted candidates may be given chance.
• There is NO Registration Fee for the shortlisted candidates. 
• Travel expenses will be reimbursed to the participating candidates upon producing the original train tickets for traveling through shortest route.
• The participants will be provided lodging and boarding in CSIR-CMERI guest house/ hostels by the organizers on room sharing basis as per SERB guidelines without any extra cost.
• 100% attendance is mandatory for travel claim and certificate.
• Upon submission of the Feedback, Participants will receive the certificate after a Quiz/ Test at the end of Workshop.
