Dr. Ranjit Ray is currently working in the field of Robotics at CSIR- Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur, India as a Principal Scientist. Dr. Ray received B.E. and M.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering in the year 1994 and 1996 from IIEST, Shibpur (erstwhile B E College, Deemed University) & Jadavpur University) respectively.   And obtained his PhD in Applied Mechanics & Aerospace Engineering from IIEST, Shibpur (erstwhile Bengal Engineering and Science University), India in 2010.

He has more than 12 years of experience in the field of Robotics and Automation and recently completed couples of projects sponsored by IGCAR, Kalpakkam, MoES etc. He has around 30 publications in his credit. His research interests include Mobile robot path planning, navigation, localization and machine vision.
