Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), a Constituent Laboratory of CSIR is currently involved in a system development project entitled “Integrated Framework for the Prevention, Early Detection, and Automated Mitigation of Spontaneous Combustion in Coal Stockpiles at mine pit heads and railway sidings.”

Large sized mechanical structures need to be fabricated and erected in coal stack yards/railway sidings in this project. The structures are to be fitted with water sprinklers/cannons. The sprinklers/ cannons are to be connected through pipes to a fire pump or similar at a far end of the yards/ sidings. A critical wireless communication system needs to be set up and regularly maintained in the coal stack yard/ railway sidings for smooth operation and constant monitoring. The entire work is deemed to be offloaded. The non-comprehensive maintenance/support of this system will also be carried out by the vendor/ technical service provider by visiting different coal stack yards/ railway sidings across various mines under ECL/ BCCL/ CCL etc. The technical service provider should have the knowledge in the field of civil and mechanical structure fabrication, erection, maintenance and plumbing. They should further have experience in setting up and maintaining communication networks/ infrastructures.

Through this Expression of Interest (EoI), CSIR-CMERI intends to identify technically competent and suitable vendors/developers/fabricators capable of undertaking the above-mentioned customized development. Based on the technical evaluation of the responses received, only the technically suitable participants will subsequently be requested to submit their budgetary offers later on as and when required basis. The EoI is therefore intended solely for the identification and shortlisting of technically suitable vendors/developers/fabricators for the proposed system development and does not constitute a commitment for award of work.
