DSIR-CRTDH

Innovation creates entrepreneurship - building enterprises that drive economic development of the nation. With the right facilities, ecosystem and investment, an innovative idea can be translated into marketable products and services. With this objective, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) set up the Common Research and Technology Development Hub (CRTDH) at CSIR – CMERI. Under this scheme, CSIR-CMERI has created the CRTDH facility where Startups & MSMEs in Design, Casting & Machining utilize low cost manufacturing & testing facilities along with equipment & infrastructure, intellectual support necessary to test and validate their Product Manufacturing process. Besides providing training on skill development , CRTDH also facilitates industry-institution interactions and assists MSMEs & Startups get access to already developed technologies available in the CSIR laboratories for taking their ideas to market.

 

The Objectives: Startups & MSMEs in Design and Manufacturing

  • Can utilize sophisticated testing facilities, equipment & infrastructure along with R&D support, necessary to test and validate their ideas.
  • Can get initial hand holding through training and skill development programs.

Can get access to already developed technologies available at CSIR-CMERI for taking their ideas to market.

Startups & MSMEs may use DSIR-CRTDH-CMERI facilities to develop their innovations in Design and Manufacturing in consultation with the principal investigator for the DSIR- CMERI - CRTDH project. 

They can also opt for technical support offline from the professionals at CSIR-CMERI.

Intellectual Property remains with the MSMEs / Innovator.

The patent cost will be borne by the company.

Startups & MSMEs in any industrial sector facing Design and Manufacturing issues may approach CSIR-CMERI for developing solutions.

  

CSIR-CMERI may undertake the development for solution and carry out design / prototype / pilot / demonstration plant in collaboration with Startups & MSMEs lead user unit.


After proving, the technology will be available on license to MSMEs lead user unit / other user units of MSME.

The Intellectual Property remains with CSIR-CMERI.

Two or more Startups & MSMEs can agree to pool their resources for the purpose of development of a new product/process/service.

DSIR-CMERI-CRTDH will provide R&D support to MSMEs for developing innovative products and to build confidence, strengthening and competitiveness by extending technical assistance.

The IP will be jointly shared by the MSMEs and DSIR-CMERI- CRTDH for joint development of the product/ process.

 

How to Apply:

Proposal from MSMEs/startups/innovators are invited by DSIR-CMERI-CRTDH as per the Application Performa uploaded in website. The filled proforma (www.cmeri.res.in) can be downloaded and submitted anytime during the year to CSIR-CMERI. The proposals shall be considered by a Management Committee (MC) constituted under the scheme. Only the proposals apporved by the MC shall be allowed access to the facility and undertake project work on the agreed terms and conditions for development of innovative product and processes.

Charges for carrying out development work at DSIR-CMERI-CRTDH

 

The charges for carrying out development work shall comprise of only direct expenses towards the following:-

  • Cost of manpower of CSIR staff deployed and temporary project staff deployed
  • Cost of consumables/raw-material components
  • Cost of physical inputs/services/utilities
  • Equipment usage cost
  • Contingencies including extra payment envisaged e.g. for hiring infrastructure facilities, experts, computer time, information etc.
  • Others (if any)
