Decorative Cricket Ball Stitching Machine

An automatic cricket ball decorative stitching machine has been designed & developed by CMERI, Durgapur. This novel device is useful for simultaneous decorative stitching of two parallel rows very closely spaced on each hemispherical leather cup before they are put together and stitched for providing the assembled ball.

No. of stitches in a row : 35-80
Distance between two stitched rows : 3 mm.
Production Rate : 5 min/cup
Power requirement : 400 W, Single Phase

  • It enhances the productivity level besides maintaining consistent quality.
  • It takes 5 minutes to produce one cup with two rows of decorative stitches as compared to 45 min/1hr. taken by one skilled labour.
  • StiTched balls as per quality of international matches can be manufactured in India at a much cheaper cost.
  • Due to its programming facility, any number of stitches can be produced as per requirement.
  • The precision micro-indexing enables production of good quality balls with uniformly spaced stitches as per international standards.
